Kristin School
Empowering strategic vision through demographic insight
Kristin School is a leading independent, co-educational school located on Auckland’s North Shore, providing a seamless dual-curriculum (NCEA and International Baccalaureate) education from Early Learning through to Year 13.
The Challenge
As part of an ongoing strategic visioning and planning process, Kristin School sought a deeper understanding of its internal student profile and its external operating environment. The school required clear demographic data to inform enrolment strategies, marketing initiatives, and long-term institutional planning to ensure they remain responsive to their evolving community.
Our Solution
McCrindle delivered a comprehensive demographic analysis and market scan designed to provide the Kristin School Board and Executive Leadership Team with a clear picture of their current and future landscape. The project consisted of four components of analysis:
- Enrolment Analysis: Geomapping student location data to define a unique catchment area and analysing internal data to determine the current composition of the student body.
- Community Analysis: A detailed demographic study of the catchment area, focusing on population size, age profiles, and household compositions.
- Competitor Analysis: An assessment of the local schooling context, including enrolment sizes and offerings of other schools servicing the catchment.
- Implications & Findings: Integrating the data to provide strategic insights into notable social and generational trends shaping the school’s broader context.
The final deliverable was a comprehensive written report featuring a narrative-driven deep dive into the data, followed by a consultative session to help key stakeholders interpret the findings and apply them to their strategic decision-making.
